In a big fire in September 1942 almost the whole village was destroyed. So the holiday must have been before September and since there is no snow painted on the painting the holiday must have been during spring or summer.

The painting is maybe done by a amateur painter who happen to be on holiday Serfaus.

For info on the fire fill in Serfaus and 1942 on Google.

Have found the page and nice to see a link . But the painting is to good to be a amateur painter . On a few meters distance the painting get's a new dimension and the chalet is looking like a picture all in the right proportions . So the painter knew the brush and made a perfect image while making big strokes with the brush .

"Urlaub" is also used for military leave, which sounds more likely for Austria in 1942. Also, "Original Sept 1942" is a little obscure. Does it mean that this is the original, painted in September 1942, or that the original was painted in 1942, and this is a later version?

I've spent some time on it with no definitive answer... The best version I have for now, that I didn't find any ways of confirming is Guido Arnot (18681945).
btw. was wondering wouldn't it be the same guy as the "Art Dealer" by Schiele?

ps. there are a couple of auction records for the artist on artprice, so if anyone is subscribed - can try checking on it.

I'm not sure how do you define "amateur" ,Max, but it is certainly a more professional painting than the one you were concerned with in your last post. ;)
