Hello, would appreciate any suggest for the signature on this watercolour of the Bridge of Sighs, Venice.

From C++vett+ I am leaning towards Corvetto, but I don't find the artist.

I have tried Cervetti, Cervetto and Corvetti as well. I suspect it is a tourist piece, although not of the worst kind.

Regards,
Vietato

For the quality of the work and for the subject , the signature could be "Canaletto" , a Venice's painter.
Unfortunately with this name there are 2 painters : Bernardo Bellotto (1721-1780) and Antonio Canal (1697-1768) , his uncle.
I didn't find their signatures for a comparison.
It would be better to ask an evaluation by an auction house.
If they gave you a positive answer , happy new year !

Angelo

Thank you Vietato and angelo for your responses. I have search your suggestions Vietato and a few others based upon, though I too can not find the artist.

It could possibly read "Canaletto", though I think the watercolour is late 19th/early 20th. Maybe be a souvenir painter using the earlier famous painters name.

Regards - Brooks.
