This is a recently acquired large print on paper. Image size is 24" by 24" (61cm by 61cm). Paper is Arches (29.5" by 38"). I think its stone lithography or some process that required multiple plates as there are multiple plate impressions (as can be seen in the signature pic). It is signed and then the signature is followed by what appears to be a Japanese chop mark. Any help identifying or narrowing down the artist or clarifying the printing process would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much, in advance.
I don't think it is Japanese. The red stamp or seal seems to be the monogram FH as from the signature F "Horlest" or something like that.
The platemark suggests a color etching, coming from the plate being pressed onto damp paper. V-12 could mean version 12 - several plates could have been printed on top of each other, and they could be of different techniques - also lithograph and serigraph (a mixed media print). Version 12 would not necessarily indicate 12 plates; they could have been printed in different colors as well.
It is very possible that this a one copy - unique - print. But I can't find the artist!

Thank you so much for the wonderful information. Very clever to see the monogram in the seal. I think you’re right, and that opens up whole new avenues for me to research. I appreciate your help and insights. Best regards
