Believed to be 19th century.
Looks like oil paint sketch on millboard (?)
No visible signature on the front.
Title of the painting signed on the back, in the upper, center top, with pencil: “Greys Peak”.
There is also number: “430” under the title and the name “Kaufmane” below this number, plus another number below Kaufmane: “5541”
(The handwriting reseambles the one of Albert Biernstadt’s).
I am stuck with deciphering the name “Kaufmane” and the numbers above and before it. Any ideas?
Could it refer to auction house, owner or gallery? Or maybe it indicates something completely different.
Any comments are greatly appreciated.
