I picked this up today, should I remove from frame to see if it is signed or is the artist name on verso in pencil ? Whoever had it, put tape over the title etc. I cannot make out the word after cabaret .
Any help ?

Thank You

Just off the top of my head, Billy, this seems to be the area of Paris, which is called, "Pigal", or "Pigalle", which is a famous dining, drinking district. Just a hunch!
The one word, looks like, "Pigal".
Try putting a piece of flat glass over all the words, written in pencil. It will be a little easier to read and photograph.
I hope this helps a bit.
Regards, and good luck,
Jimmy N

It is the Lapin Agile Cabaret in the Montmartre district:

Pigalle is not spelled "Pigal".

Vietato

To the left it says "Aquarelle originale", French for "original watercolor".
The signature ought to be *feuchon /*fenchon / *fenchou /*feuchou, but I don't find a matching artist.

Regards,
Vietato

Thank You Vietato, I looked at it closer with a more powerful eye loupe today and it seems to be a watercolor and oil mixed media .
