I bought this piece recently - it’s quite substantial - can anyone give me an idea if this is by Arturo Tosi, and, if so, how much it might be worth? Thank you

Style and subject matter does not point to Arturo Tosi.
On your signature photo it looks as a print, since no paint strokes are apparent.

You should show the back also. If the support is canvas you should also look at how it is attached to the stretcher: nails or staples (telling about the age).
You should also give the size of the canvas.

Regards,
Vietato

Thank you for responding...the painting is 47” x 24” and it is definitely a painting - thick stroke marks. As for the canvas, I took a picture, but am not sure how to post it here. It appears to be an old canvas, held in place with bent nails.

When you post a reply you can attach files just as in your initial post.
You can also edit a post and attach additional photos.

Regards,
Vietato

I keep getting a message that the file is too big - it is clearly older canvas with nails, both securing the canvas and locking it into the frame...
