This oil on canvas has been relined. The size is 28"x34". The relining has been done professionally, it seems. The signature is peculiar. Maybe one of the members can figure it out. I am familiar with the style, but can't figure the artist . Possibly someone may recognize the thick impasto style. I believe that there is a mother and two children.
Thanks, for any help that you can give. It seems to be early 20th century - just a guess!
Thanks, and best regards to all the members, Jimmy N
I am always reluctant to bump a painting in order to receive a response.
This particular painting has received a great deal of relining and attention. Because of this tender loving care which has been used on this painting, and the professional preservation, I think the painting might have been an important abstract piece.
I would love to hear opinions from the members.
I have looked for a signature. I'm sure that I have overlooked it. It is a very complex painting with a few possibilities for a signature.
