I received a mail from Bidtoart saying membership is no longer free. 1 month is $14.99 and 1 year $149.99. Since their numbers of auction records and artists are less than Artprice, I wonder what might induce art lovers/pro's to subscribe. Would anyone see some advantage or unique selling point?

Of course it depends on how many results you need for your particular kind of search, but I think BidtoArt is competitive with its lower subscription prices (150 USD vs. 270 USD for a basic subscription with Artprice.)

And you get 30 % off if you enter the promotion code BidtoArt007 (that is zero-zero-seven).

Regards,
Vietato

- I compared the number of results from some artist. For example: Johann Jungblut 1001 (artprice) to 242 (bta). Same with other examples
- artprice is faster in adding new auction results
- some artprice images are more detailed
- the bta website is incredibly slow

If the search would be more sophisticated, like here on findartinfo with * and + placeholders, I probably would use it for searching. No reason to subscribe though.

Regards, ad
