I don't find the artist.

The "label" seems to be the address field from a postcard:
Ihrer
Hochwohlgeboren
Gräfin Nemerow
in Neustrelitz (…)
Großherzogliches Schloß

[Her
Excellency
Countess Nemerow
in Neustrelitz (…)
Grand Dukal Castle]

This seems to be the daughter of Victoria Marie von Mecklenburg-Strelitz
https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victoria_Marie_von_Mecklenburg-Strelitz

In 1928 she married Karl Barton von Stedman (1875-1933)
https://www.geni.com/people/Karl-Barton-von-Stedman/6000000106260556052

But since the painting is from 1872, this information does not help much in determining who the portrayed person is. He is from the generation of her grandparents.

Regards,
Vietato

There are two Lehners but no A.Lehner in the usual handbooks and databases in that period. For a grandducal surrounding this would seem a rather cheaply produced portrait, probably done after a photograph commissioned by the widow of the gentleman.

Yes, and it is not very plausible that a countess would put part of a postcard addressed to herself on the back of painting to indicate ownership.

More likely somebody in possession of the postcard thought it would add an “air de noblesse” to the painting.
