Hello,

finally the last art piece I had on my mind for today. It seems to be an antique drawing of a gent gone fishing. The way the figure and face features were portrayed had caught my eye as it reminded me of Egon Schiele influence. There is an inscription at the bottom that seems to be in German (?) as it starts with "Land" (A with 2 dots on top) but I can not make the rest of the wording .... Also it appears the drawing had been initialed in bottom right corner "P ...?" but I can not decipher the 2nd letter. I was curious if somebody can translate the phrase and maybe can recognize the artist ...???

Thanks again,
Cyril.

My knowledge of German grammar leaves a lot to be desired, but I think it reads "Ländliches Vergnügen" ("rural pleasure").

It's a fine drawing. I thought of Alberto Giacometti, although it is not imitating his style. Monogram: PM, I would think.

Regards,
Vietato

Dear Vietato,

pardon me for delay .... Thank you very much for your translation. I also thought of PM for monogram and I will probably dedicate some extra time now to go through PM artists to see if I can get a name ...

Thanks again!
Cyril.
