We wonder what this antique portrait of a little girl dressed up as a shepherdess is. It isn't signed, some 50cm high, the cloth is glued onto a silly still-life on board. The frame is missing and so is some of the paint throughout. It was said to be Flemish by our relatives.
Probably not a girl, but the boy Jesus as a pilgrim, one of the many personas of the Christ popular among worshippers in Spain and Portugal. If you google "menino Jesus Peregrino" you find more very similar girlish Jesuses, many done by a 17thC. lady painter called Joséfa de Óbidos who specialized in them. Are you sure it is an antique, centuries old canvas?
