Hello,

just wanted to see if somebody could help with this charming (antique) watercolor. Appears to be a jockey helper tending to a gear before or after the race. The watercolor originally came from France, as you can see it is signed in the bottom left corner, I think the signature says "Berman" but I maybe slightly wrong ..... one incorrect letter and you get a whole new story ..... I tried to look up Berman(s) artists, went through about 15-20 of them but did not seem to find a match .... Just wondering if somebody can read the signature correctly or knows who the artist was. Art size is about 7 x 11 inches. Frame and matts are not original so there would not be any clues/hints in that.

Hope somebody can shed some light on this watercolor for me.

thank you.
Stay safe and healthy!
Cyril/

Hello Angelo,

Thank you very much for your suggestion .... this is what I was talking about - one letter goes different name and we get a whole new artist ..... I did check that link you sent and Elemer's signature did not seem to match with what I have ...I have taken another close look to my signature and I do believe it start with B, then E and after that I am not so sure any more, to be honest .....

Thanks again!
Cyril.
