Hello,

this watercolor is not mine but I am researching it for a friend ..... did not have much luck so far though ...

what we have here is an antique watercolor, size 8 x 5 inches for the art sight, comes with original mount ..... the back shows the date 13th ..... (can not figure out the month) of 1909 and the inscription below says "Mont Andre" which is in France, I believe. It also bears a stamp from Christie's sale from 1982 ....

is there a way to find out who the artist was ...???

Thank you.
Cyril.

I think the month is Xbre (octobre).

You could ask Christie's about records from the 'studio sale' in 1982.
I think 'studio sale' refers to an auction with works from a particular artist's studio - works not previously sold. But I am not 100 % sure about that.

Such sales might take place ten years or more after the artist's death, but the artist was probably quite young in 1909.

Regards,
Vietato
