I purchased this painting at an estate sale.
It looks old and I think it's unique but I cannot find any information about it.
The signature appears to be L or J Coney.
The painting is on some sort of fabric and stretched similar to a canvas, but the fabric is not hard like a canvas. Could it be silk? There is no paint buildup at all on the surface of the fabric. There appears to be a relatively new board that has been stapled on the back of the frame to help protect the artwork.
The painting is approximately 24 inches by 32 inches
Any ideas regarding the age, technique, artist, origin, or value would be greatly appreciated.
