What do you think of this painting? Signature looks like Béla Iványi-Grünwald (6 May 1867 – 24 September 1940) He was a Hungarian painter, a leading member of the Nagybánya artists' colony and founder of the Kecskemét artists' colony. Could this be right? Or could it be a fake signature? What to think about the painting itself? Could be one of his paintings of the Balaton Lake? It is not like most other paintings that I could find of him but he experimented with different styles. I really don't know what to think about it. There is some dark stain at the bottom left and it looks if it has got humidity. Lots of cracks in the paint too.
Thanks for the link Angelo. Very difficult because the artist experimented with so many different styles. Perhaps someone on this forum knows his work and can tell if this could be painted by him or not. Anyway the age of the painting looks to be from before WWII and the signature is similar (but genuine?).
