Is This a Joe Grandee Painting

I purchased this painting over 30 years ago. It has the signature of Joe Grandee with the initials of JG in a circle and the year 1970. It appears to be an original because of the brush strokes and it's painted on hardboard.
Does anyone have any idea if it is and the value of this painting? I researched the artist and found out that any originals by him are indeed quite valuable.

It's very difficult to say from here (there are prints on brush stroke structered material), but it looks, as if it is an original.
