A local appraiser is going to charge you close to half of what the painting seems to be worth. I don't think I would if it were mine. I would take close up shots of the brush strokes so I could give people a reasonable chance of seeing it is a real oil painting and then sell it on Ebay or a local Craigs List. If you can get good enough pictures it will sell better... there are so many reproductions out there even of the more obscure artists. Slant you camera so the movement of the paint brush stokes can be seen.
