Hi there. This is a great site!! I've really enjoyed reading some of these inquiries and responses for more then 2 hrs. However, I do have some paintings that I would love to get some value ideas if you could help. Here is one painting signed C.Inness (could only find Clara Inness info online). On the back is dated 1983 and has "Oil certified" seal. Thanks for your help.
p.s. was not able to upload pics..got "File too big message" and do not know how to fix it at the moment

Hi, welcome to the site.
Well, it's definitely not by Clara Inness - she died in 1932. Other than that, I can't find any artist possibilities.
I would guess that your painting here is worth about $15-$35.

Thanks Impasto. I have to clarify that the date is probably the framing date. Please check the pics. Regards.

The type of canvas that the painting is on is most likely no older than the 70s -- and the style of painting is very recent. There is no reason to think that the "1983" does not correspond to the actual painting -- it's a perfect fit. (Which also happens to be the year I was born;)
My guess is that it was sold at an art fair of some sort by an amateur or unknown artist. In that respect, you'll probably never be able to track down the artist, and your efforts in doing so most likely won't increase the value. Don't fret, that happens a lot.
