Hello, I stumbled across this forum while trying to find out the artist for an oil painting I've had for years. After a couple of hours of unsuccessful research, I thought I'd reach out to see if anyone here could identify the artist and/or give any details into this painting. I've attached pictures of the front of the painting, a closeup of the signature, the writing on the back of the canvas and the sticker that was on the frame. The only details not shown in the pictures is "#301" written on the back of the frame (I would assume it's frame #301, as that is what the sticker shows), and a price of $98.50 written in pen on the back of the frame. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Medium: Oil
Support: Canvas
Size: 12x24?
Provenance: In family for years - given to me by parents

Welcome to the forum,

I believe your painting is signed L. Ruggeri, and there are many floral paintings to be found signed this way, but without trustworthy information about the artist.

Here are two very similar signatures:
The first letter is L. even though they call him F. and a "well listed artist".

And more:

Here the artist is called Gina Ruggeri, but it's still signed L. Ruggeri:
I haven't found information to back up the assumption of the artist being Italian, born 1830.
Here is another one (20th century):
Here the signature cannot be seen:

This points to a productive, commercial painter, first part of the 20th century. The signature might be a pseudonym.

Thank you so much Vietato! It definitely appears to be L. Ruggeri (and believe it or not, I have seen that name when on some other sites, but couldn't load any pictures). The style seems to be very similar and the signature is close enough for my curiosity. I'll be googling away to find out more info! Thank you again!
